The Brand Leading India’s Global Beauty Industry Growth Through Influencer Engagement

Diipa Büller-Khosla, an early Instagram user and a well-known influencer from India, has effectively evolved into a beauty entrepreneur with her label, Indē Wild. Introduced in 2021, Indē Wild fills a void in the beauty sector by presenting products inspired by Ayurvedic traditions, a practice she inherited from her mother, Dr. Sangitha Khosla, who is both a dermatologist and an Ayurvedic practitioner. Although she began anew during the pandemic, Büller-Khosla’s brand promptly set itself apart through a robust community-focused strategy. The product development of Indē Wild significantly incorporates its audience, making sure that the brand’s offerings resonate with consumer needs.

The brand’s signature item, the Champi Hair Oil, exemplifies this collective method, with its success paving the way for additional products such as shampoos and conditioners. Indē Wild merges time-honored Ayurvedic components with contemporary dermatological knowledge, a concept that Büller-Khosla calls “Ayurvedistry.” This fusion of age-old insights and modern science is apparent in their hair and skincare ranges, which feature serums and sunscreens.

Indē Wild’s advancement has been noteworthy, characterized by its growth into key retail outlets like Sephora U.K. and now Sephora U.S. The brand’s launch in the U.S. market represents a wider acknowledgment and fascination with Indian beauty practices, which Büller-Khosla seeks to advocate on a global scale. With a $5 million seed extension spearheaded by Unilever Ventures, Indē Wild is set for further growth, aiming to enhance its presence in Sephora stores throughout the U.S. Büller-Khosla foresees a time when Indian beauty, or “I-beauty,” rises to become a worldwide trend, similar to the recent ascendancy of K-beauty and J-beauty.
